A Visit at the Sibyl’s Desk
Last week I went on vacation to Strömstad, which is a small town
on the Swedish West Coast. Sometimes going on holiday I use to
look for activities and so I did last Saturday, as there was no
weather for the beach. Approaching Strömstad by car, I’d recognized
an advertising poster about a Medical Health Fair taking place on
July 5 and 6, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. and 18:00 p.m. It seemed exciting
visiting the fair. I parked the car on the parking lot just outside
the entrance of the upper secondary school, where it was taking place.
At the entrance I asked the woman: “How much is it?” She answered:
“The entry is Swedish Crowns 100,-. I paid for the entrance and
stepped inside the premises.
I was lucky visiting the fair on Saturday, because there was a
running race in the city core, which was the reason, why there wasn’t
so many people attending the fair. It was very hot inside the premises,
but the atmosphere was calm. I was very interested in what they had
to offer, so I went around somewhat amused and curious having a look
and there she was. I recognized the woman’s face at once. The woman
was sitting in front of a desk offering her services, telling you about your
future and back-ground. Attending the Medical Health Fair last year
I’d visited her. Her name is Tina Taylor a professional medium. What
story was she going to tell me this time, the same or another one? The
sibyl glanced at me as if she recognized me. There was a great many
Norwegian people queuing up in front of her desk, eagerly to hear her
story-telling. I’d to put my name on a list to stipulate visiting-time.
At last it showed to be my turn. I paid Swedish Crowns 100, - for a
ten minute visit. During my visit at Tina’s desk, the sibyl’s desk, the
following dialogue was held:
The sibyl: “Instinctively, I think I know you. Have you been
visiting me before?”
I: “Yes, as a matter of fact I’ve and now I’m curious
about what story you’re going to tell me this time."
The sibyl: “How nice seeing you again. Would you please hold out
your hands and put them into mine. I'll tell you more
about your future as well as back-groung."
At the same time she closes her eyes being quite for
a long time before starting to speak again.
“As you see, I’ve got some Tarok-cards at the desk
in front of me. Now I’d like you to point out two of
them.”
I: “Yes, I choose the Tarok-card to the extreme left
and the other one to the extreme right.
The sibyl: “Historically, the Tarok-cards tell me, that in 1646
you were a woman clergyman at the profession,
who sentenced a lot of people to death for witchcraft.
People were burnt at the stake, even if there just was
a mere trifle, as for example a beautiful girl having a
small birth-mark at her left hip, which was to be
considered as a symbol for being a witch. At that time
people, was condemned even if being innocent. The
with-trial was often being started by envying and
questioning people. Then it was fulfilled by the priest
condemning the poor creature to death for witchery."
“Further, at the sixteenth century you entered a
monastery. Taking the vows you executed some really
good needlework, when giving aid to refugees. You did
a nice job very alike Mother Theresa’s and was well-
known for it.”
“In the end of the seventeenth century you were
working as a schoolteacher helping children to read
and write. As a teacher you were very popular among
the children, who loved you very much.”
I: “I see, that according to my back-ground I’ve been up
to a great deal of different thrilling roles. I find it an
awkward situation during the witchery having been
such a cruel person. You see, I like people very much,
being an emotional person. It was a sad story you’re
telling me. However, at that time it was different
as people weren’t as informed as they are today.”
The sibyl: “No, you’re quite right. At that time, there was a lot
of cruelty. How is your situation today? I see, that
you’ve got a lot of people around you at work. What
are you doing at work? Are you married?”
I: “I’m permanently employed at Telia handling claims.
I’m neither married or living together with somebody,
but I’ve got a friend.”
The sibyl: “Yes, the cards tell me, that you’re living separately,
but within soon he’ll ask you to marry him. At work
you’ve got contact with a lot of people helping them
with their problems. At Telia you’re working very hard
climbing up the stairs. Also, I see, that you’re under
stress at work. That’s why I’d like you to visit the
healer’s desk. Carl-Arne Nilsson, at the neighbour’s
desk, is a healer holding a diploma. He’ll give you a
piece of good advice getting rid of stress.”
I: “Thanks for holding your time. Is it O.K. if I continue
visiting Carl-Arne’s, the healer’s desk?”
The sibyl: “Thank you and hoping to see you next year!”
I: “Good buy!”
The healer:“Hello, how are you?”
I: “I’m fine thank you, but sometimes I’m feeling a
little under stress.”
The healer:“Yes, I feel you’re in a state under strain. I’ll help
you get rid of it.”
I: “That’s fine!”
The healer:“Now I’d like you to close your eyes and just relax
for some minutes. I’m going to put my hands on your
shoulders enabling you to feel the heat streaming
out of my hands. As you’ve got a very busy job, I’d
like you to take at least ten minutes of your time each
day for meditation. It will help you not being over-
strained at work.”
I: “I wonder how do I do meditating in a correct way
to achieve utmost relax?”
The healer:“You switch off the light, lightening a candle, putting
on soft music, while thinking about nothing at all for
about ten minutes per day. Just try to empty your
mind completely.”
I: “Thanks for instructing me how to handle and solve
the stress problem.”
The healer: “I’m now going to give you a hug wishing you good
luck with the meditation.”
I: “How much for your consulting time?”
The healer: “Swedish Crowns 100, - will do.”
I: “Thanks for keeping your time.”
The healer: “Good buy, hoping to see you next summer.”
I: “Good buy!”
